Honouring Thy Break is a deeply personal photo series with the aim of exploring the raw and often unseen realities of living with anxiety. Through this collection, you are invited into the fragmented and emotionally charged space that anxiety occupies in my life. The series aims to visually articulate the intense tug-of-war and disconnection that anxiety can cause—feelings of being pulled apart, of splitting and splintering under the weight of internal pressure.
Having struggled with mental health challenges for years, I have long found it difficult to express the complex emotions tied to my anxiety. This project was born from a need to communicate what words alone couldn’t capture—a desire to share the deep, personal nature of my mental health journey. Each image in Honouring Thy Break serves as a visual expression of the struggle to cope, to reconcile, and to endure in the face of invisible turmoil.
At its core, Honouring Thy Break is not just about my personal experience but also about fostering empathy and understanding. The series is intended to resonate with those who have felt the weight of mental health struggles and to offer a visual representation of the internal battles many face in silence. By sharing this personal work, it is my hope to encourage others to reflect on their own experiences, seek support, and ultimately find strength in knowing they are not alone.
